Irumudi Shiva Nirvana Reacts To Teachers Objection

The phenomenal theatrical success of Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has turned into a major celebration for the entire team, with the makers describing the film as a “generational blockbuster” following its impressive run at the box office. The movie has collected over Rs 200 crore gross so far.

The producers revealed that the film has exceeded their initial expectations by a significant margin. Mythri Ravi recalled that the team had set a modest target for the Nizam market but was stunned by the response.

“We thought it would do Rs 10 crore in Nizam, but the numbers surprised us in every area. In terms of footfalls, it created several records. Nearly one crore people have watched it, while Nizam alone has crossed 40 lakh footfalls,” he said.

Mythri Naveen called Irumudi a rare achievement in the production house’s journey, particularly in terms of both appreciation and revenues.

“Ravi Teja is very composed. He is very happy about the film’s performance. The film is growing day by day. Irumudi is a miracle and a next-level movie in our journey, in terms of appreciation and revenues. Things like this happen very rarely, perhaps once in a decade or two,” he said.

Director Shiva Nirvana credited the film’s ability to bring together three distinct narrative layers as one of the key reasons behind its strong connection with audiences.

“The three layers blending together definitely worked. Telugu audiences completely owned the film in theatres,” Shiva Nirvana said.

The filmmaker explained that his intention was to go beyond simply presenting a crime or devotional narrative. Instead, he wanted to use the story to highlight the problems women face in different spaces while also examining toxic elements that exist within various systems.

Shiva Nirvana also responded to objections raised by teachers over the portrayal of the teaching profession in Irumudi. Some teachers had reportedly expressed displeasure over the film presenting a teacher character in a negative light.

Addressing the criticism, the director pointed out that his own background is connected to the teaching field.

“I also come from the teaching field. There are poisonous elements in every system, and I wanted to talk about some of those people. I also showed a good teacher in the film,” Shiva Nirvana clarified.

The director further explained that the devotional dimension of Irumudi was never intended merely to create a commercial high. For him, the emotional core of the story was the father-daughter relationship and the transformation of the protagonist.

Shiva Nirvana also praised Ravi Teja for his versatility and ability to bring multiple shades to a character when backed by a strong script.

“Ravi Teja can do comedy, energy and emotion. When a good story comes to him, he will deliver a next-level performance,” he said.

The Irumudi team has announced plans to organise a grand success celebration soon, marking the film’s extraordinary theatrical journey and overwhelming reception among audiences.
